Hassle-Free Process
ECT Act 7-day cooling-off (All online purchases)
Under the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act, you may return ANY item purchased online within 7 days of delivery for any reason. You pay return shipping unless the item is defective. Item must be in original condition.
Sealed product (Extended to 14 days)
We extend the return window to 14 days for sealed products if the shrink wrap is intact and the outer box shows no tampering. This is more generous than the ECT Act minimum.
Singles and graded cards
Must be returned within 7 days in original protective sleeve/case. Condition must match listing photos. Cards removed from grading slabs or showing signs of cleaning/alteration cannot be returned.
CPA 6-month warranty (Defective goods)
Under the Consumer Protection Act, defective items or goods not suitable for their intended purpose can be returned, repaired, or replaced at our expense for up to 6 months after purchase.
How to start a return
Follow these simple steps to initiate your return:
Email support@altertcs.co.za with your order ID and photos of the issue
Wait for a prepaid label or drop-off instructions from the support crew
Pack the item using the original materials when possible
Refunds process within two business days of inspection
We inspect all returns under 4K lighting and capture photos during the process. Credits land in your Alter TCS wallet or refund to the original payment method within two business days.
Resolution options
Store credit
Issued instantly once inspection is complete and includes a 5% bonus for consignors reordering within 30 days.
Refund
Processed to the original payment method within two business days. Bank transfer refunds may take 48 hours to reflect.
Replacement
If stock is available we can reserve a replacement item and ship it at no extra cost once your return is confirmed.
Exclusions & fair use
- Opened mystery boxes, digital products, and downloadable content
- Orders older than 30 days from delivery confirmation
- Cards that were altered, cleaned, or removed from grading slabs after delivery
We reserve the right to decline future orders from accounts linked to fraudulent activity or repeated chargebacks. All decisions are reviewed by management to ensure fairness and compliance with South African consumer law.

Message us on Discord once you open a return. We can reserve replacement product from incoming stock or offer a like-for-like card from the vault.
